Brother Darryl and Smash

Posted: February 26, 2011 in General

Since someone has voted on “my life” in the poll (even though I know it was my mother) I have decided to put up pictures of my brother Darryl (my dad calls him that but I don’t know why?) and my sister, Ashley. Growing up we hated each other like any other loving family that consisted of my brother suffocating me with blankets and not letting me out, which made me claustrophobic for the rest of my life and my sister being a “princess”.  After about 19 years we started liking each other and now we are pretty close. I think one of the reason we didn’t like each other was because of these haircuts we kept getting back in the day

I know what you are thinking and yes, I am prettty sure that is a mullet on ALL of our heads.

These days my sister is the sweetest thing on earth even though I’m a normal brother and can be mean sometimes (I am pretty sure that it is in the younger brother’s job description to be mean). I usually go to my brother’s house or he comes back to my parents every time I come  home to hang out even though we are socially very different. (I am an introvert and he is very extroverted).

The Past Couple Of Weeks…

I WON AN AWARD!!!

So I guess after 4 games and .00000000004% of a fifth someone thought that I was a player to watch, AYYEEEEE ( apparently that is the cool thing to say according to my teammates like ” o, that’s great” lol) The best part about receiving the award was I able to be around a bunch of great athletes/people. Sitting to the right of me was Troy quarter back Corey Robinson who I almost got him to say “go bucks” at the end off his speech in which I was almost certain that the OSU fans in the audience would charge the podium in enthusiasm! To the left of me was Mack and his son Stone(picture below) who was a riot the whole night.

The next weekend I was invited to attend the Archie Griffin Big Ten Icon banquet which was one of the coolest things I’ve ever attended with Posey and Boom. The banquet was at the student union and it mainly consisted of watching the show then having Archie and some of his old teammates talk about their experiences with Archie. It was a great experience to be able to hear what everyone had to say. The biggest thing I took form the banquet after everyone talked about Arch was that his intangibles is what made him great, for example they talked about how he always “emptied the tank” in WHATEVER he did and always stayed humbled.

Then I took a break and gained some LB’s for Valentines day!

Finally the seniors and I went to the veterans hospital where we showed our support and signed some autographs!

My First Steam Engine.

Posted: February 19, 2011 in Trains

When building my train set I knew the main engine that I wanted was a fixed-wheel older style engine rather than a diesel or electric powered one. My first idea was to get a Harry Potter Hogwarts Express (the one from the movie, and yes I know I am a nerd) engine and go with the European style theme for my lay out. I ended up purchasing one on Craigslist for $80+$20 shipping which is a deal considering they were going on Ebay for $150.

After weeks of anticipation and finally receiving the train, I opened the package in a 3rd down, game on the line -blitzing off the edge like manner only to find out that the turns were too tight for the train engine! After readjusting the track about 10 times and finally coming to the realization that it would not work I turned to ebay and sold it for $138 (first time seller and no positive reviews killed me).

A few weeks later I came across a used fixed steam engine that would normally go for 100+ new but was on sale for only $25! I was nervous about buying it at first because I didn’t know if it could make the turns but it worked out great!!

My Train Adventures Part 1!

Posted: February 13, 2011 in Trains

It’s finally here, what all you 2 subscribers and 39 random hits have been waiting for! the unveiling of my TRAIN SET!!!

Here is the layout..

This is what I have so far, the train runs perfect around the track (which took forever to do) and I am beginning to start to paper mache the mountain. I would go into detail about how I got to this point and what I am going to do in the future but Jaimie is in town and i have a midterm to study for so those topics will come in later posts!!

Updates on the site!

Posted: February 11, 2011 in General

In the mist of developing this site I have found out that I have NO TIME, in saying that there are hardly any updates! I have added some stuff to the site, one being a “blogroll” (don’t ask me why it is called that because I will not have an answer for you) which will list my favorite sites and have a description on why they are my favorite sites. The second thing that I have added is a categories section that will list a variety of my intellectual hobbies and historical life experiences, also did I tell you I am very sarcastic too? The category sections will be divided into trains, football, and experiences? The categories are not set in stone and could possibly change.

Community service outreach time! Have a good day everyone! GO BUCKS!

A little bit about my blog.

Posted: February 4, 2011 in General

Welcome to my Blog! This is my first time doing this and I have no idea how to do it! My mom has a blog of her own and knows how to set this up but since she will probably be my only visitor I’m going to be stubborn and learn everything myself :).

A little bit about my blog.

1. I am terrible at spelling and grammar but thankfully my Mac spell checks for me so now I’m just terrible at grammar. There will be commas in places where they shouldnt be and no commas in places where there should be!

2. I dont care that I am bad at Grammar so don’t correct me …..Mother lol

3. I am going to start by blogging about my trains because I am a nerd and want everyone to see how big of one I am. Later on I might start blogging about everyday things and my life but that will only add two more topics to my blog, Jaimie(girlfriend), and football. I could possibly talk about school but it would be very boring and go something like “Today I should be studying for my Business Operations 430 Midterm that I have on tuesday and don’t know one thing about yet but instead I am making a blog and blogging about how I might add school into my blog later on.”

4. Mom you can not give advice to me about my blog. 🙂

5. I hate talking on the phone and I am terrible about staying in touch with people. I am a very introverted person so I thought this would be a great way to communicate with family and friends! I hope you all enjoy!
